Incredible Marin County Civic Center Wedding

Allyson and Jon’s Marin County Civic Center wedding was an awesome little affair, with a small handful of their favorite humans and, of course, their dog Rollie, who was there for the entire day. Because what’s the point of getting married if your dog isn’t involved? Their nearest and dearest, a very good boy, and a pretty epic backdrop. Sounds like a good day to us.

Marin Civic Center is such a wonderfully weird place to photograph, with all its curves, concrete and delightfully unusual architecture. (Darren studied architecture for many years and is also a bit obsessed with Frank Lloyd Wright, so he was very much in his element here. TBH!) Designed by Wright himself, the building is a pretty spectacular example of mid-century modern architecture, and an absolute playground for anyone who enjoys a slightly unconventional backdrop. We spent the afternoon wandering around the building with A + J, wishing we had so much more time with them. We could have easily shot there until midnight. Photo ops galooooore!

Honestly, it’s like stepping into a retro wonderland. Vibrant, bold and totally unique. Between the architecture, the little in-between moments, the laughs and all the cuddles with Rollie, there was plenty to keep us busy. We could go on, but 84 adjectives would be too much and boredom would set in for anyone reading.
