Why Getting Married at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa is the Dream Wedding location
The outdoor options are particularly good if you want your wedding to feel like a party rather than a formal production. The Pavilion is a whopping 43,200 square feet and comes with access to the East Lawn and its California redwoods, while the Nelson Family Grand Plaza gives you another huge outdoor space for receptions and cocktail hour. As a Santa Rosa Wedding Photographer, we love a venue that gives us something to play with beyond 14 versions of the same beige wall. Add good people, a questionable amount of dancing, and a few drinks, and the LBC starts looking like a pretty damn good place to get married.

A Luther Burbank Center Wedding gives you way more to photograph than the average wedding venue. The campus has contemporary sculptures, manicured grounds, the Nelson Family Grand Plaza, and the East Lawn with its big California redwoods. Then there’s the Pavilion, a space with huge windows and plenty of room to let the party spill out. Basically, you can get a bunch of completely different looks without putting your poor wedding party through a 45-minute trek around Sonoma County.
As a Santa Rosa Wedding Photographer, we love a venue that gives us options without making everything feel overly “wedding.” The art, architecture, trees, open lawns, and changing light give us plenty to play with, whether we’re chasing a few quiet portraits or documenting the chaos as everyone heads into the reception. A Luther Burbank Center Wedding can look polished, colorful, modern, slightly weird, or all of the above, and honestly, that’s much more interesting than making every photo look like it came from the same wedding template.
The Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa Wedding Ceremony and Reception Spaces
The Luther Burbank Center for the Arts is not your standard wedding venue, and thank god for that. You can say your vows outside in the Nelson Family Grand Plaza or East Lawn, surrounded by sculpture, landscaping, and California redwoods, then move the party into one of the indoor spaces when you’re ready to crank things up. The venue can accommodate everything from a 20-person intimate affair to a 500-person proper knees-up, so there’s plenty of room to make the day fit you rather than the other way around.
For bigger celebrations, the Pavilion is the absolute beast of the bunch. This can accommodate up to 1,000 guests for a reception and opens onto the East Lawn, which means there’s plenty of room for dinner, dancing, cocktails, and whatever questionable decisions happen after the champagne starts flowing. As a Santa Rosa Wedding Photographer, we love that the different spaces give a Luther Burbank Center Wedding its own personality. It’s part arts campus, part outdoor party venue, part blank canvas, and thankfully very little bit of boring.
How much does it cost to for a Luther Burbank Center for the Arts Wedding and What’s Included?
So, how much does a Luther Burbank Center Wedding actually cost? LBC doesn’t publish a neat little “wedding package: $X” price tag, because packages are customized around your guest count, chosen space, and what you’re planning. Weddings can accommodate anywhere from around 20 to 500 guests, so naturally there’s a fairly big difference between an intimate gathering and throwing a 500-person Sonoma County rager. The venue offers several spaces across the campus, including the Pavilion, the Nelson Family Grand Plaza, Lytton Rancheria Grand Lobby, Carston Cabaret, and Schwing Salon.
What you get depends on the space and package you choose, but the big appeal is having an entire arts campus at your disposal rather than being stuck in one giant beige room. The Pavilion, for example, is a 60-by-120-foot event tent with removable windowed walls and access to the East Lawn and its California redwoods, while the Lytton Rancheria Grand Lobby gives you 6,120 square feet of indoor event space. We ditched the 9-to-5 grind to snap couples smoochin’ – and honestly, it’s the best damn thing ever. If you’re after some traDISH pics, you might wanna keep looking, ’cause we’re definitely not your cup of tea.
