Why having your Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge is the Dream Venue
A Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge also gives you plenty of room to actually enjoy your own party. Get married with the ocean doing its thing in the background, wander around the property for photos, then head back for food, drinks and whatever questionable decisions happen once the dancing starts. As a Sea Ranch Wedding Photographer, this is exactly the sort of place we like shooting – loads of interesting stuff happening naturally, plenty of space to roam, and a landscape that looks pretty damn good without needing a mountain of decorations dumped on top of it.
Wedding and Elopement Photos around The Sea Ranch Lodge
For photos, The Sea Ranch Lodge gives you a ridiculous amount to work with without having to turn the whole wedding into a photoshoot. The coastline, grassy bluffs, cypress trees, winding paths and distinctive Sea Ranch architecture all sit within easy reach, so you can wander off for a few minutes and come back with something that looks completely different. There’s also that slightly unpredictable coastal weather, which we’re firmly in favour of. Fog, wind, dramatic clouds and a random patch of sunshine are all considerably more interesting than perfect blue skies every time.
For a Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge, we’d much rather have you actually explore the place than spend an hour being marched through a list of increasingly elaborate poses. As a Sea Ranch Wedding Photographer, we’re looking for the good stuff as it happens – you two disappearing down a path, someone getting blown sideways by the ocean breeze, your friends losing it during cocktail hour, or that brief bit of weird golden light that appears for approximately four minutes and then vanishes. Basically, bring comfortable shoes and be prepared to roam.
The Sea Ranch Lodge Wedding Ceremony and Reception Spaces
The ceremony setup at The Sea Ranch Lodge keeps things nicely unfussy. You can get married outside with the Sonoma Coast doing most of the visual heavy lifting, then bring everyone back to the Lodge for cocktails, dinner and dancing. The property has that very distinctive Sea Ranch look too, so even the indoor spaces don’t feel like you’ve wandered into a generic hotel ballroom and accidentally booked a wedding. It all feels connected to the landscape, which is kind of the point.
For a Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge, the real bonus is how easily the day can move between the different spaces without turning into an Olympic relay. Say your vows outside, head inside for dinner, then let things get progressively more chaotic as the drinks and dance floor kick in. As a Sea Ranch Wedding Photographer, we love a setup like this because there are plenty of opportunities to disappear with you for photos without completely abandoning your guests for half the day. Plus, the coastline is right there waiting for anyone who needs a five-minute escape from Uncle Bob’s dance moves.
How much does it cost to for a Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge and What’s Included?
The cost of a Wedding at The Sea Ranch Lodge depends pretty heavily on how many people you’re bringing and how much of the Lodge you want to take over. Current packages range from around $1,500–$7,000 for smaller elopements and intimate celebrations, while larger celebrations and full buyouts can climb to $17,500–$37,500+ before you start adding all the other wedding-day fun. The Lodge also requires a minimum two-night stay for certain buyout arrangements, so it’s worth thinking of this more as a whole coastal weekend than simply renting a room for a few hours and calling it a day.
What’s included depends on the package, but The Sea Ranch Lodge can take care of quite a lot, including ceremony and reception spaces, tables, chairs, dinnerware and glassware, plus in-house food and beverage through the Lodge’s culinary team. Smaller celebrations can use spaces like the Fireside Lounge and Solarium, while larger weddings can make use of the Lodge’s indoor and outdoor spaces and, depending on the package, private areas across the property. There are also 17 guest rooms on site, which means your wedding can turn into a full-blown coastal hangout rather than everyone disappearing down Highway 1 immediately after the last dance. As a Sea Ranch Wedding Photographer, we’re very much on board with that plan.
